Latest openIMIS news

2018 was an exciting year for the openIMIS Initiative! Especially during the last months of 2018, the openIMIS Initiative was able to expand its network and has welcomed the new members. The Initiative is looking forward to working with them this year. In November and December, the openIMIS team also participated in various conferences and events to present the software and its tools.
 
openIMIS at recent events
In November Swiss TPH pitched openIMIS at the BaselHack for developing a new PWA client application to group all client components into a single mobile and offline first application, secured by design, including authorization by user’s role/authorities, facilitating maintenance and deployment. December has been an exciting month for the openIMIS Initiative. The openIMIS team chased one conference after the other to represent the openIMIS Initiative. openIMIS was presented at the OpenMRS Implementers’ Conference in Nairobi/Kenya, at GDHF 2018: Global Digital Health Forum, at the Digital Health& Interoperability Working Group Meeting and the Global Goods Implementers Meeting, all in Washington, D.C./USA as well as at re:publica in Accra/Ghana. The openIMIS software and its tools was also presented at the HELINA in Nariobi/Kenya during the session “openIMIS – A Generic Open Source Tool to Manage the Health Financing Bit of Universal Health Coverage”.
 
openIMIS participates in #UHCDay
On 12 December 2012, the United Nations unanimously endorsed a resolution urging all countries to push progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC). As an essential priority for international development, each year on 12/12 stories of millions of people waiting for health coverage are indicated. By raising their voices, the world should be reminded that health coverage is a need for all. The openIMIS Initiative participated throughout the day with three stories from Nepal:
 
Winners of the openIMIS tenders announced
The Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, commissioned by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) launched three tenders for openIMIS. The winners of the tenders are:
The openIMIS Initiative welcomes the new members and is looking forward to working with them! We would also like to thank all other bidders / bidding consortiums for the numerous excellent proposals and want to take the opportunity to invite any interested stakeholders to join the openIMIS community!
 
Agreements with Regional Hubs
The openIMIS Initiative is delighted about the acknowledgement of AeHIN and Jembi Health Systems NPC for further cooperation with the openIMIS community. The openIMIS Initiative would like to thank both for this commitment.
