In 2017, Global Digital Health Forum was: “The Evolving Digital Health Landscape: Progress, Achievements, and Remaining Frontiers”. In this spirit, a blog post with contributions by the openIMIS Initiative took a close look at current trends in affordable and accessible healthcare for all and the global movement towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Health systems in low- and middle-income countries continue to face difficulties in providing high quality, affordable health care for all citizens. Policy-makers, donors and programme implementers are searching for innovative approaches to eliminate the multiple barriers to health. Digital health is a promising tool to solve some of the long-standing issues.
