October Bhela: Introducing the AI Hub for Social Protection

The openIMIS initiative invited the AI Hub for Social Protection to present its work to our community of implementers and developers. The AI Hub helps countries adopt AI responsibly and innovatively. During the introduction, Honga Ross and Sarang Chaudhary highlighted the Hub's services and resources, especially its direct advisory and technical support. The idea is to assist countries in using AI to strengthen social protection, offering tailored advice from a global network of experts.

Participants shared valuable insights on:

  • Opportunities for AI to enhance service delivery and decision-making
  • The importance of data quality, governance and ethical safeguards
  • National experiences and challenges in developing AI capacities

A recording of the presentation can be found here, and a separate copy of the presentation slides and further documentation can be found on the wiki page.

The openIMIS coordination desk would like to thank all those who joined, contributed and shared their experiences (especially to Honga Ross and Sarang Chaudhary for presenting) - the perspectives shared will shape how the AI Hub continues to support the global social protection community.
